Villages of Bandra

A story of the original 24 pakhadis that made Bandra.  This village walk explores the East Indian community’s contribution to Bandra through their old occupations & practices like fishing, rice farming, toddy tapping – illicit liquor smuggling & many more. An ethnic culture still preserved in modern Bandra through its colonial architecture & rustic beauty. We walk through the semi-preserved villages of Ranwar, Chimbai, Chuim & Pali. Hear folk-lore and stories of the pre-independence way of life, social customs and traditions to moving through Bandra’s uber localities of Pali hill that are home to some Bollywood stars.
